Pride events in San Antonio includes Pride Bigger Than Texas Festival

Happy Pride Month, San Antonio! June in the Alamo City is full of events celebrating, honoring, and paying homage to the LGBTQ+ community and bringing to causes that make a great impact in the with community support. Pride Month has been celebrated for decades with much love and excitement each year in June, and was first federally recognized in 1999 to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
There are events every weekend in June, from health and wellness-oriented activities to bingo, brunch and everything in between, including the Pride River Parade on June 10 and the Pride Bigger Than Texas Festival and Parade on June 24.
Social Spot is hosting Alamo Area Resource Center's annual Pride Night on Friday, June 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with drag performances by Ira Decent, Diablo Banx, Jey K Banx, and Natasha Capri; and live music and performances by Mariachis Los Compadres and Folklorico de Bendiciónes; LGBTQ-run artisan and food vendors, and drink specials. Free and open to ages 21 years and older.

Wellness at the Tobin's Pride Ride kicks off on Saturday, June 3, at 9 a.m. with a free meditation session ahead of your spin class. Session one starts at 10:30 a.m. and session two at 11:15 a.m. Spaces are limited and can be reserved at the Tobin Box Office with a $5 donation that benefits the THRIVE Youth Center.

The Office of Student Life at San Antonio College is teaming up with Team Taco Cycling Group and Mixxedfit SA Dance Fitness Group to hold a free Pride Ride bike ride. The wellness event will start at 9 a.m. with a warm-up and hype dance session before the 12-16 mile bike ride that will take riders to points of interest LGBTQ+ spots in the city. The event is free and open to the public.

The second annual Pride on the Eastside Festival by WestCarewill be on June 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Ella Austin Community Center. Guest speakers will include District 2 Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and Austin Alegria, with an opening performance by the Sam Houston High School marching band. Food vendors will include Mi Corazon Street Tacos, Jewell's Food Truck, and Monster Treat.

Drag Queen Brunch Bingo starts at 11:30 a.m. on June 3 at Love Shack Boutique Event Center, hosted Alayna Marquez. All proceeds benefit the THRIVE Youth Center. Ages 21 and up can enter, entry fee is $25.

The Pride Center's Queer Voices program is holding the Queer and Trans Joy Pachanga on June 3 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy free food and games, a mini mercadito, blessings and music by DJ De La O from starting at 4, with the main show featuring music, poetry, drag and burlesque beginning at 6 p.m. A $5 donation is suggested to enter, but event organizers say no one will be turned away. Parking will be available in the San Antonio College Parking lot.

Don't miss the 2nd annual Bud Light Pride River Parade & Celebration on the San Antonio River Walk on June 10. Entertainment will begin at 1 p.m. at the La Villita's Arneson River Theatre that includes family-friendly, live on-stage entertainment from DJs, bands, impersonators, dancers and more, organizers said. The River Parade will have two showings, one at 4 p.m. on the Downtown Reach of the river and at 7 p.m. on the Museum Reach.

The 2023 GetFitSA Pride Hike & 5K is a free event on June 10 at Pearsall Park. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8 a.m. with warm up with Zumba before the 2.5K hike and 5K run, and a cool down yoga session. Participants can register online and organizers said that race day registration will be very limited from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. Overflow parking will be at West High School and a shuttle service will start at 7 a.m. to take people to and from the park.

The Center's Icon's Brunch is the largest annual event supporting San Antonio's Pride Center and will take place June 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rosenberg UIW Skyroom. The event will feature live entertainment, delicious food, special guests and more, and will honor community members for their outstanding contribution to LGBTQ+ causes. Tickets are available online and parking is free in the UIW garage directly below the Skyroom.

She Likes Her is a women's only mixer and speed dating event at Picks Bar on June 11 from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be three 30-minute rounds of speed dating and a mixer. Tickets are $30 and include one round of speed dating, mixer admission, one drink ticket, two door prize tickets, and a goodie bag. Tickets for the mixer only are $15 and include one door prize ticket.

Tthe Bonham Exchange is hosting an evening of fashion at Regaylia with the brand Alegria. The event runs from 8 to 11:30 p.m., with pre-show festivities that include a red carpet perfect for photos ops. Organizers said the inspiration behind this season's collection is "queer royalty," showcasing the diverse and regal beauty of the LGBTQ+ community. Tickets are available online and start at $45.

Head to the San Antonio Zoo on June 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. for Pride Night Out at the Zoo, a family-friendly celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community"in a zoo-nique way." Tickets are available online. Early bird tickets are $15 and general admission is $20.

The Ghost Light Society is hosting the Out at the Tobin Pride Brunch on June 18 starting at 11:30 a.m. The event will feature a brunch buffet and brunch bites, followed by performances by Coco Montrese from RuPaul's Drag Race, Violet S’Arbleu, and The Queen Fantasia Wood. Tickets are available online for ages 18 years and older.

Pride San Antonio will culminate in the annual Pride Bigger Than Texas Festival and Parade on June 24 at Crockett Park. The event will kick off at 11 a.m. and the 2023 theme is "Just Say Gay." There will be tons of entertainment, food, a health fair, a mass wedding, and more! Leashed pets are also welcome. Tickets are available online now starting at $12. Ages 11 and under get in for free.
